Château Bel Air
The Bel Air estate dates back to the 1860s and has been transformed under François Duverneuil's tenure since acquiring the property in 2005. They are situated in Montagne-Saint-Émilion, one of four satellite appellations of Saint-Émilion, and neighbouring vineyards owned by the revered Angelus.
It's a terrific part of Bordeaux to explore for ambitious producer with high potential terroir, and without the premium tariffs of the most famous appellations.
The Bel Air vineyard is well positioned and exposed with both rocky and clay-limestone soils. The vineyard is divided into two parcels: 6 hectares on the clay-limestone plateau, with vines over 40 years old, and 3 hectares on a slope with more clay-rich soils, with vines aged 15 to 20 years
A great find.
