Domaine Alex Foillard
One of the bright, young talents of the present generation of Beaujolais, Alex Foillard produces an electric set of Gamays under Beaujolais and the Crus of Brouilly and Côte de Brouilly. He is the son of Jean Foillard, where he works alongside his father at the famous Morgon based Domaine Jean Foillard. Alex’s philosophy centres around crafting wines that authentically reflect the terroir of Beaujolais. They adhere to organic and biodynamic principles, prioritising sustainability, and a deep connection to the land. Meticulous vineyard management practices, including manual work and low yields, ensure vine health and optimal grape maturity. With a focus on the Gamay grape, sourced from old vines, the Domaine employs natural fermentation, minimal sulfur usage, and gentle winemaking techniques to preserve the fruit's purity and expression.
