Côtes de Nuits Villages

The 2020 Côte de Nuits Village includes 40-50% whole bunch has a well-defined nose with brambly red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy redcurrant and cranberry fruit with a pleasant sour cherry note on the finish. This is from two parcels in Comblanchien. Jane Eyre notes: ‘Due to the frost I only managed to get 2.5 barrels from my normal supplier. I purchased another 4 barrels’ worth of fruit from another producer several hundred metres from my usual guy. The two parcels were picked one week apart and fermented separately. Several punchdowns and pumpovers were done during fermentation. The wines were kept separate in barrel. The biodynamically farmed portion finished malo just prior to harvest. he wine matured in 100% French oak barriques, 25% new. The wine was racked only once in October 2016 before it was bottled later in December without fining or filtration. ABV 14%
