Murdoch Hill
Grape growing in the Adelaide Hills had all but diminished by the 1970s, with cool climate & the resulting wine style out of favour relative to the illustrious, powerful wines of the Barossa. How things have changed! The Downey family have farmed for generations, initially cattle, hens, flowers & potatoes. In 1998 they planted vineyards, with youngest family member Michael overseeing viticulture & winemaking. Countless awards & waiting lists have followed & we’re immensely proud to be among a handful of countries receiving their small batch Artisan wines.
