A terrific Loire Chenin Blanc, sourced from 4 plots of vines planted in 2000, 2001 and 2002 in Saint Lambert du Lattay and Clos des Huerdes in Beaulieu sur Layon. The soils here are of clay, gravel and shale, with organic viticulture employed.
The wine undergoes a natural ferment, gentle press into a stainless steel tank with ageing on the lees for around 8 months. Vol 13.5%.
The result is a characterful Chenin Blanc of slightly honeyed apple, pear and quince. It's fleshy, mineral and underpinned by a tangy acidity so typical of the best Loire Chenin Blancs.
