Admirably discreet wood is present on the spicier and earthier aromas of red and dark currant along with a pretty hint of violet. Here too the medium-bodied flavors possess unusually good refinement for Morgeot while offering much better depth and persistence on the bitter cherry pit inflected finish that is markedly firmer. From the hill of Corton running south to the town of Beaune and Santenay at it`s tip, the Côte de Beaune represents the southern half of the vineyards of Côte d`Or. It is famous for its mix of Grand and Premier Cru white and red wines including Montrachet, Corton, Puligny, Pommard and Volnay. In the cellar alcoholic and malolactic fermentationtakes place in a Burgundian piece. Aged in wood it lasts from 10 to 18 months depending on the vintage followed by bottling. Before bottling, the wines rest in steel for one to three months. ABV 13.5%
