This vintage is quite strict and slightly ferrous on the nose, gradually opening with redcurrant and cranberry fruit, touches of orange blossom and pain d'épices. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, lightly spiced with white pepper and cumin. Modest depth, it feels nicely focused with a persistent saline finish. Le Rognet et Corton is located in the village of Ladoix. The highest part of the land is often used for white wines that are called Corton-Charlemagne while the heart of the hill, located between 275m and 285m above sea level, has a well-draining soil of reddish clay loaded with iron oxide. to the cultivation of Pinot Noir. All grapes are destemmed before spending 7 days in a cold soak with minimal pumpovers. Fermentation occurs naturally with indigenous yeasts before the grapes are pressed.
