Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru

This Pinot Noir displays a dark ruby red color with an intense purple hue at the center. The nose reveals subtle floral notes complemented by a fine and discreet toasty aroma. On the palate, it offers a juicy, tender, and deliciously tangy experience, with a pronounced black cherry fruitiness. The tannins are dense, ripe, spicy, and well-integrated, providing a digestible sensation. The wine is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes grown on a 0.49-hectare plot with very mature, deep soil characterized by brown topsoil and a subsoil of large, fractured limestone blocks. The vineyard benefits from an east-facing sun exposure. After handpicking and destemming, the grapes underwent a 17-day maceration in temperature-controlled open oak vats, with regular cap punch-downs during alcoholic fermentation. Complete malolactic fermentation took place, and the wine was aged entirely in new oak barrels for 21 months. This extended barrel ageing contributes to the wine's complexity and structure. ABV 14.5%
