Grains de Celles Extra Brut

The Pierre Gerbais Celles-sur-Ource 'Grains de Celles' 2018 is a beauty. From an excellent vintage, the blend mirrors the domaine parcels of 50% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay and 25% Pinot Blanc, a relative rarity.

The base wine undergoes alcoholic fermentation in neutral French oak vessels, before secondary fermentation in bottle, resting on the fine lees for 30 months ahead of disgorge. It is bottled with a low dosage of 3g/l (Extra Brut). 

Delicate floral scents, dry orchard fruit and an attractive wet slate like mineral tow. Layered and intense on the palate, with the rare inclusion of old vine Pinot Blanc adding brightness. Fine today and bristling with potential.
