Pomerol

The 2016 L'Evangile is a Merlot-dominant wine, with 92% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc. It showcases a deep garnet-purple color and offers a complex bouquet of dark fruits, chocolate, menthol, and tobacco. The palate is medium to full-bodied with ripe, velvety tannins and refreshing acidity, leading to a long, mineral-driven finish. The vintage experienced mild, rainy weather initially, followed by a hot and dry summer. Despite lower yields, the grapes ripened perfectly, benefiting from cool nights and preserving freshness. Vinification took place in concrete vats, followed by malolactic fermentation and 18 months of aging in new oak barrels from Tonnellerie des Domaines Barons de Rothschild. ABV 13%
