100% Grenache. Medium red in colour. Aromas of red cherry, berry fruits, anise and milk chocolate are melded by complex herbs and spices. The hallmark of this wine is 100 day post-ferment maceration which imparts incredible silky texture and refinement to the palate, creating a textural wine with depth, structure, vibrant acidity and defined tannins. Stunning now, it will gradually evolve over the medium term. Located in the heart of the Barossa Valley, the oldest block within our Tri-Centenary Vineyard comprises of 820 gnarly old bush vines that were planted in 1889. The vineyard features deep, sandy, loam soils underlain with red-brown, clay layers. These soils are very deep and hold large volumes of water. With careful management, these dry-grown vines consistently produce quality fruit. After the Grenache grapes were hand-picked and fermented, the wine remained on skins post-fermentation for 41 days. This extended maturation contributes an even greater complexity and individuality to the wine. ABV 13.5%
