Dark crimson and fruited. One of the more structured Crus of Beaujolais, and with the substance to age. Fine, scented, red and purple fruit, a floral lift and subtle spice. 65 year-old vines, very steep, eastern exposure at 310-380m. A very small cru with granitic soil covered, unusually, by a top layer of crystal quartz. Harvested manually, the grapes are sorted, partially destemmed, and a traditional vinification follows, over a fortnight with regular punching down "à la bourguignonne". Semi-carbonic ferment, partially destemmed, by a partial Burgundy oak ageing for around 8 months. ABV 12.5%
