As with its’ Chardonnay sibling, the Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir sees a core component from young vines at Domaine de la Côte, alongside 40+ year old vines of Sanford & Benedict.
The wines undergo wild fermentation, there are no additions (except for some sulphur), they all go through malolactic conversion and a conservative amount of new oak is used during elevage.
This is top drawer in 2021, laced with Pinot fruit, whilst retaining a coolness of expression and freshness. Characterful and confident, whilst detailed and precise.
A hallmark for good Cali Pinot and Sandhi.
