Domaine Anne et Jean-François Ganevat

We never cease to be fascinated by the wines of the Jura. This is France's smallest wine region, situated close to the border of Switzerland. The region takes its name from the Jura Mountains along France and Switzerland’s border. A mountain range of limestone and rock that would give the Jurassic Period its name.

The wines are brilliantly niche. At first glance, some familiarity in Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, but with indigenous varietals of Savagnin, Trousseau and Poulsard that are rarely encountered outside of the appellation.

Anne and Jean-François Ganevat are among the most revered producers of the Jura, yet wholly unique in their ever-changing and dazzling array of single-parcel and micro-cuvées, produced across their domaine holdings and negoce bottlings. Many are one-offs releases.

We've enjoyed the wines of Anne and Jean-François Ganevat's for almost 20 years, since encountering them at a game changer of a London wine bar, Terroirs, and we're delighted to bring these to South Africa's shores.

Enjoy!
