The producers of Moulin à Vent will tell you that theirs if the finest Cru of all Beaujolais, and they may have a point in that the wines here are renown for showing a concentration, tannin and longevity to Gamay that juxtapose the reputation for youthful drinkability. Tales have been told of bottles open at the domaine as far back as the 1920s. Among the top names here, are Domaine Paul Janin et Fils with a pedigree dating back to the 19th century. It remains under the tenure of the Janin family, with an enviable set of vineyards, some topping 100 years of age. Ancient vines yielding tiny quantities of remarkable Gamay
