Rémi Poisot's journey to taking on the family domaine is a little off-piste, having spent 25 years prior serving as a naval officer before taking up the vines. However, his lineage in Burgundy is a long one, his great-grandmother Marie Latour (later Marie Poisot) having inherited half of the domaine holdings from her father, Louis Latour after his passing in 1902. Her brother, also Louis Latour would inherit the other half, forming the hub of today's goliath negociant, Maison Louis Latour.
Cue numerous generations, some plots sold off, a period of leasing out the vineyard plots, and Rémi, in 2010, would return to take the helm and revive the Poisot domaine label.
Today, he oversees cultivation of a small area of family vineyard totalling just over 2ha.
However, within these 2ha are some incredible and focused terroirs, including three Grand Cru (Romanee St-Vivant, Corton-Charlemagne and Corton Bressandes) and the Premier Cru of Pernand-Vergelesses En Caradeux.
