A single vineyard (Le Clos) of 80+ year old Savagnin vines in Arbois of the Jura appellation, on signature grey marl and limestone scree soils.

Savagnin is the flagship varietal of the Jura, famously used in production of Vin Jaune (yellow wine). The varietal is rarely found outside of the appellation, and is restrained in character, yet an important parent varietal to Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc.

It produces white wines with outstanding cellar potential. Firm and compact in youth and filling out with restrained yellow fruit, wax, floral and saline characters with age.

Unlike a Vin Jaune, the 'Le Clos' is topped (ouillé method) up during maturation.

Without additions, and matured in oak barrels for over 3 years. The result is a white of stunning, natural aromatics of quince, blood orange and florals. The palate is layered, textural and kept in check by a thrilling line of acidity.

Youthful and compact now, this wine will reward time in cellar.
