Domaine de la Madone

Domaine de la Madone preside over some of the finest terroir within the famous and diverse Cru of Fleurie. The estate takes its name from the Madone Chapel perched at the summit, with Fleurie loosely translating from ‘flower’. The domaine was founded in 1960 by Jean Bererd and is now led by his son, Pierre Bererd. They tend to some 28 hectares of vineyards planted primarily with Gamay Noir grapes. The winery follows sustainable practices, emphasising environmental preservation and natural vineyard balance. Mature vineyards and sun exposure yield Gamay expressions of concentration and detail, playing between red and black fruit, classic Fleurie florals and a Syrah like spice.
