Piedrasassi cultivate grapes and American heritage grains in the heart of Santa Maria Valley, at the north of Santa Barbara County. It is run by husband and wife, Sashi Moorman (winemaker) and Melissa Sorongon (baker). In both grape and grain growing, they promote regenerative agricultural practices in Santa Barbara County, with Melissa currently President of the Santa Barbara Farmer’s Market Association.
The valleys here traverse west to east, funneling cool Pacific fog far inland, allowing Syrah grapes to gradually develop massed of varietal character, with amplified Cali style fruit, and invigorating spice. We’re thrilled to land this maiden intake for SA.
