Sancerre 'Belle Dame'

Regarded as the 'Grand Cru' of Sancerre red wines, 'Belle Dame' is the name given to this site of 50+ year old Pinot Noir, situated on pure flint (silex) soils. 

Alongside, the Sancerre Rouge bottling, this shows a darker cherry character, blackberries and a sous bois (undergrowth). It's a persistent wine, beautifully delinated fruit and just the right amount of muscle.
